Hi I'm Tara Bowen, the owner and trainer behind Leading Paws K9 Training and Pet Care! 

My journey working with dogs and pets began when I turned my passion into a full-time career in 2023. While training a clients puppy for fun with their consent, I quickly discovered a growing love for dog training that turned into something much bigger. 

I am a certified professional dog trainer, graduate of Catch Canine Trainers Academy, and Pet First Aid and CPR certified. 

In my experience working with dogs, I've learned every dog has thoughts, feelings, and personalities. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to training, which is why I focus on understanding each dog as an individual. This allows me to create personalized training plans that reflect each dog's needs, personalities, and the goals of their family. I hope to help as many families as I can. 

My training methods are based on communication, consistency, and compassion. I believe dogs learn best when expectations are fair, structure is consistent, and training is built on trust and understanding. As a reward based trainer, I've found that reinforcing desired behaviors creates long-term success. After all, no one likes working for free, and your dog is no different!
